The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is seeking an appropriately qualified vendor to operate an Employment Shelter at a location in 357 Marcus Garvey Blvd, Brooklyn NY 11221. The shelter will provide transitional housing for single adults without other housing options, as well as services that help secure viable housing in the community and maintain independent living arrangements. Services will include social services, assistance in obtaining permanent housing and employment, linkages to medical, behavioral, health care, and recreation services. The contractor will be responsible for providing structure and an atmosphere that facilitates assessment of individual needs, provision of case management and other social services, referrals to community-based services, and assistance in securing alternative housing. • The shelter will have a capacity of 200 beds for single adult males and an additional 170 beds in the Drill Floor annex. • The contractor will be required to provide a range of services, including intake and assessment, case management, residential and supportive services, health care services, employment shelter services, and data monitoring and reporting. • The contract will be for a term of 5 years, with a total maximum available funding of $46,140,307. • The contractor will be required to have tax-exempt not-for-profit status under 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and at least three years of successful demonstrated experience in providing social services to vulnerable populations and homeless adults.
