The Richard L Roudebush Veterans Administration Medical Center (RLRVAMC) in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an Architect/Engineering (AE) team to improve the comfort, operation, reliability, and energy efficiency of the chilled water system that services the RLRVAMVC campus. The project involves a comprehensive investigation of the existing chilled water system, including the chiller plant, distribution piping, pumps, valves, and terminal units. The AE team will provide a detailed study, analysis, and full construction design to modernize and potentially expand the existing chiller plant. The design should address all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, civil, structural, and architectural aspects, to ensure operational resilience and compliance with VA standards and applicable codes.
• The project includes a detailed review of all chiller plant equipment for operating, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• The AE team will investigate both mechanical and electrical components of the plant.
• The review will also include an investigation of the size and condition of the distribution system between the chiller plant and buildings.
• The investigation will include a detailed review of the condition, reliability, and energy efficiency of the air handling units (AHU) and fan coil units (FCU) within all buildings.
• The AE team will provide a detailed energy model under both normal and epidemic modes of operation.
