CTE Makerspace Curriculum

The Des Moines Independent Community School District is seeking a qualified firm to design, develop, and support a comprehensive CTE Makerspace curriculum for grades 7‑8 across six career‑focused courses (Computer Programming, Medical Exploration, Design & Modeling, Automation & Robotics, Business Basics, Cybersecurity). The vendor must deliver complete curriculum packages—including unit plans, instructional resources, assessments, teacher guides, required software/hardware specifications, and professional development/training for educators. The contract is for an initial one‑year term with the possibility of up to four one‑year renewals. • Develop curriculum aligned to high‑school CTE/STEM pathways and Iowa standards. • Provide hands‑on, project‑based learning materials for each of the six courses. • Ensure accessibility for English learners and special‑education students (UDL compliance). • Supply required software, hardware, and consumable material lists, distinguishing mandatory vs. optional items. • Deliver initial implementation training, ongoing technical assistance, curriculum updates, and virtual coaching. • Submit a proposal of ≤30 pages by 27 Oct 2026; questions due by 15 Oct 2026. • Contract term: 1 year, renewable up to four additional years; proposals must remain valid for 90 days.
