Sole Source Contract for Energy Management Services with Schneider Electric

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs is providing public notice of their intention to enter into a sole source contract with Schneider Electric for energy management services. Schneider Electric is the only company authorized to meet the service requirements for the existing Energy Management System (EMS) installed at the Regional Centers. The contract amount is $31,080.00. • The existing EMS is installed at the Regional Centers and is a Schneider Energy Management DDC control system through their EcoStruxure user interface. • Schneider Electric personnel are authorized to program and service this equipment and software. • Regular maintenance and software upgrades are necessary to maintain the systems. • A study in 2021 determined that converting to a non-proprietary system would be approximately $2 million, which is not feasible at this time.
