VISN1 Lab/Pathology/Pharmacy Courier Service

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide courier services for laboratory, pathology, and pharmacy-related materials throughout VISN1 VA Medical Centers. The contractor will be responsible for transporting specimens, supplies, and medications between various locations, including VA medical centers and non-VA facilities. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, vehicles, and personnel to ensure timely and secure transportation of these items. The contract will be for a period of 60 months, from 10/16/2026 to 10/15/2031. Some key requirements of the contract include: • The contractor must be able to provide daily courier services, including STAT and routine runs, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. • The contractor must be able to transport items requiring different temperature ranges, including room temperature, refrigerated, and frozen. • The contractor must provide continuous temperature monitoring devices and real-time monitoring systems to ensure that specimens and medications are transported within the required temperature range. • The contractor must be able to track specimens, medications, and other items from pickup location to delivery location and provide documentation of tracking upon request. • The contractor must comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to hazardous materials, HIPAA, and the Privacy Act.
