The US Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing Cold Cathode Gauge Replacements. The procurement aims to replace the existing Televac MM200 vacuum gauge system with a Vacuum Gauge Standard (VGS) that consists of a controller, sensor modules, associated sensors, and necessary communication cables. The VGS will be calibrated by the Air Force Primary Standard Laboratory using high-accuracy standards traceable to NIST. The VGS will serve as a base reference standard for calibrations in Air Force Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratories.
Key requirements include:
• The VGS shall be capable of measuring vacuum levels within the range of 1 X 10-6 Torr to 1 X 10-3 Torr.
• The VGS shall have an uncertainty of at most the specified values for the respective defined ranges.
• The VGS shall be capable of maintaining its uncertainty for a minimum of 12 months without the need of alignment.
• The VGS shall have a digital display capable of displaying its measurements with a resolution equal to or better than the set uncertainty.
• The VGS shall be designed and constructed of materials that meet the requirements of this specification and in accordance with the best commercial practices for industry-approved equipment.
