Selenium Analysis

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District, is issuing a sole-source, firm-fixed price award to Brooks Applied Labs for selenium analysis. The project requires defensible data for a new water quality criteria for the EPA, and an extremely low selenium detection level is required. Brooks Applied Labs is one of the few labs in the country to offer low-level selenium analysis, and it is being used by the USGS, Montana DEQ, and Teck to provide all other selenium data for this project since 2015. The lab's location in the King County metro area in Seattle, Washington, allows the Seattle District to collect water quality samples at Libby Dam and Albeni Falls Dam and deliver the samples within strict holding times. • The project requires low-level selenium analysis, a highly specialized laboratory service. • Brooks Applied Labs is one of the few labs in the country to offer this service. • The lab's location in Seattle, Washington, is convenient for the Seattle District. • The project requires comparable and compatible selenium data to MDEQ, USGS, Teck, and the EPA. • Brooks Applied Labs has been used by the USGS, Montana DEQ, and Teck for this project since 2015.
