RFQ - As-Needed Morgue Transportation Services

The County of El Dorado is establishing a Qualified List of firms capable of providing as‑needed morgue transportation services for the Sheriff’s Office, handling the removal and transport of decedents both within and occasionally outside the county. No guaranteed volume is promised; contracts may be issued on a task‑order basis up to a three‑year ceiling. Vendors must submit a Statement of Qualifications, certifications, references, and a detailed fee schedule. Evaluation heavily weights the questionnaire (90 pts) and references (10 pts), with optional interviews for top scorers. The award may result in one or multiple contracts, each governed by a sample agreement that includes insurance, indemnity, and payment terms. • Provide secure, chain‑of‑custody transportation of human remains on an as‑needed basis. • Must hold a current California Funeral Establishment/Crematory license and meet County insurance requirements. • Submit a full fee schedule (hourly rates for standard, after‑hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency services). • Contract duration up to three years, with no minimum work guarantee; assignments issued via individual work orders.
