California Gulch Groundwater Monitoring

The State of Colorado (CDPHE) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide technical support for groundwater monitoring at the California Gulch Superfund Site (CalGulch) in Lake County. The work includes maintaining the existing groundwater monitoring network, operating an early‑alert mine‑pool system, and delivering data and recommendations to improve the monitoring program across Operable Unit 12. The contract is a fixed‑price, one‑year award (Feb 1 2027 – Jan 31 2028) with the possibility of up to four one‑year extensions, subject to performance and funding. The annual budget is approximately $75,000, not to exceed $375,000 over five years. • Provide routine groundwater sampling, analysis, and reporting for the CalGulch Superfund Site. • Maintain and calibrate the groundwater monitoring network and mine‑pool early‑alert system. • Update and manage a public groundwater monitoring website. • Deliver technical recommendations to improve the monitoring program for Operable Unit 12. • Must have ≥5 years experience in groundwater monitoring at Superfund or mining sites, and proven ability to manage similar‑size projects. • All work must comply with Colorado accessibility, insurance, and reporting requirements.
