Description

The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) is seeking information on end-to-end untargeted genomic sequencing workflows, field-deployable bioinformatics tools, test and evaluation infrastructure, and protein toxin sequencing capabilities. The ideal responses should include technical descriptions, summaries of relevant experience, estimated timelines, and sustainment strategies. The purpose of this RFI is to inform an Industry Day tentatively planned for Q2FY26. • Genomic sequencing workflows should be end-to-end and untargeted, suitable for military users with varying levels of technical expertise. • Field-deployable bioinformatics tools should be capable of detecting indicators of genetic engineering and identifying potential biological threats. • Test and evaluation infrastructure should be suitable for government-led testing and evaluation of untargeted sequencing approaches. • Protein toxin sequencing capabilities should include both mobile laboratory-based systems and field-deployable platforms.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a request for information and not a solicitation for a specific contract. However, based on the scope of the project, which includes the development of genomic sequencing workflows, bioinformatics tools, and protein toxin sequencing capabilities, the budget could potentially be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require significant research and development efforts, as well as the potential for future contracts for the implementation and maintenance of the developed technologies.
