Additive Manufacturing Polymer-based Systems Request for Information (RFI)

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking information from industry regarding commercially available polymer-based additive manufacturing systems. The systems should be capable of supporting shipboard, land-based, expeditionary, and developmental operations. NAVAIR requires an updated capability to additively manufacture polymer parts and components to support shipboard and shore-based operations, sustainment, and logistics. The current polymer additive manufacturing systems require a technology refresh to address evolving operational needs, improve reliability, and enhance material capabilities. • The systems should be able to manufacture non-critical and critical components. • The systems should have a build area with specific maximum and minimum dimensions. • The systems should be forward deployable or permanently installed. • The systems should have specific features such as auto-calibration and alignment capabilities, material storage, drying, and handling features, and network interface details. • The systems should be able to operate in an air-gapped or restricted network configuration. • The systems should have specific logistics support, including failure data and reliability history, build monitoring and reporting capabilities, and technology refresh roadmap and upgrade options.
