Bus Rapid Transit Independent Cost Estimator Professional Services

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is seeking a professional services contract for an Independent Cost Estimator (ICE) to provide services for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System along two corridors: Reading Road and Hamilton Avenue. The ICE will provide an independent estimate of the construction work during the Preconstruction Phase of the project and validate the cost(s) and production proposals submitted by the CMAR Contractor. The scope of work includes developing estimating cost models, participating in design review and risk management, providing Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC), and developing and reviewing milestone estimates. The contract term is five years, and the project is funded by state and federal funds. Key responsibilities include: • Developing estimating cost models • Participating in design review and risk management • Providing Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) • Developing and reviewing milestone estimates • Delivering fully detailed estimates and estimate summaries • Participating in estimate reconciliation meetings The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience with contractor-style, production-based estimating, proficiency in production-based estimation software platforms, and experience with identifying, assessing, and pricing risk.
