The City of Somerville is seeking a qualified vendor to operate and manage the Founders Memorial Ice Skating Rink for an initial one‑year term, with two optional one‑year renewals. The contract requires full seasonal operation (Nov‑Mar), staffing, ice‑maintenance, revenue collection, and compliance with city ordinances (living‑wage, wage‑theft, CORI, vulnerable‑road‑users, ADA). Compensation will be based on a revenue‑share percentage and hourly public‑ice‑time rates proposed by the vendor.
• Operate the rink year‑round season (Nov 1‑Mar 31), providing staffing, ice‑resurfacing (using city‑provided Zamboni), cleaning, utilities, and safety compliance.
• Manage scheduling priority for city‑affiliated hockey and youth programs, and provide free skate rentals for Somerville High School students during early‑release windows.
• Submit monthly gross‑receipt statements and an annual financial reconciliation; maintain records for at least three years and furnish required insurance, certifications, and living‑wage compliance.
