Purchase of FTIR and UV-Vis/NIR microscopes for The ICEE facility

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking to purchase FTIR and UV-Vis/NIR microscopes for The ICEE facility. The microscopes will be used for planetary science research, specifically for the analysis of biosignatures and biosignature diagenesis. The FTIR microscope and UV-Vis/NIR microspectrophotometer must be able to function in concert with the Raman microscope and provide complementary data on the same spot in a sample. The purchase includes the microscopes, installation, training, and a sample holder frame that enables accurate sample repositioning for sample re-analysis. • The FTIR microscope must have a mid-IR configuration infrared spectrometer with diode laser, KBr beamsplitter, and high-Intensity ceramic IR Source. • The UV/Vis-NIR Microspectrophotometer must have a range of 200 nm to 1.6 um using a 10x Cassegrains objective. • The microscopes must be able to provide data on the same locations on the UV-Vis to NIR to Mid-IR and the Raman instruments. • The purchase includes a Dell Pro Slim Desktop for data analysis and two Dell 24" monitors. • The period of performance shall be from award to 11/01/2026.
