Engage Youth Employee to Enhance the Preservation, Inventory

The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to the Rocky Mountain Conservancy for the project "Engage Youth Employee to Enhance the Preservation, Inventory". The project aims to develop a diverse youth employee program to provide employment for youth, stimulate community engagement, and cultivate the next generation of National Park Service professionals. The program will provide opportunities for under-represented diverse youth to learn about the Facilities Management program, multiple Resource Stewardship Division programs, and the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program in Rocky Mountain National Park. Some key aspects of the project include: • The recipient will recruit and hire youth and young adults from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. • The recipient will ensure that youth participants have opportunities for training in resource conservation and vocational skills. • The National Park Service will provide youth employees with topic-specific background information, including pertinent science, and will provide work space, transportation, and necessary materials. • The project will motivate youth and young adults to be involved with facility maintenance, natural, cultural, and historical resource protection of their communities.
