Description
The National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to EMD Millipore Corp for the acquisition of one Milli-Q IQ 7005 ultrapure water purification system. The system will produce laboratory-grade Type 1 ultrapure water required for preparation of solvents, calibration standards, blanks, and biological samples used in liquid chromatography mass spectrometry analysis. The purchase includes one Milli-Q IQ 7005 ultrapure water purification system, one 25-liter storage tank with frame and top assembly, one Q-POD remote dispensing unit, one E-POD remote dispensing unit, installation kit with initial filtration components, and contractor installation and startup services.
• The system provides integrated polishing, monitoring, and dispensing modules specifically designed for high-sensitivity analytical instrumentation.
• Substitution with a different brand would require revalidation of analytical methods, potential modification of SOPs, compatibility assessment with current plumbing and dispensing configuration, and risk of introducing variability into ongoing research workflows.
