The City of Hastings is seeking a qualified contractor to design, demolish, install, test, and commission a new water‑meter building and associated 6‑in. ductile‑iron water‑service main at East Gate Plaza. The scope includes demolition of the existing meter pit and pavement, construction of a new insulated meter building with mechanical and electrical systems, installation of 263 LF of 6‑in. DI water main, associated fittings, thrust blocks, trench work, and required testing and disinfection. The contractor must be a licensed plumber for all work outside the right‑of‑way, obtain all permits, coordinate with utility providers, and provide a one‑year warranty. • Demolition of existing meter pit, valve, and pavement; backfill and compaction. • Construction of a new meter house (structural, mechanical, electrical) with insulated metal door, roof, interior HVAC, and fire‑rated finishes. • Installation of 263 LF of 6‑in. ductile‑iron water main, 4 LF of service pipe, thrust blocks, fittings, trenching ≥ 5 ft depth, testing, disinfection, and coordination with water‑system control (48‑hr notice). • Electrical upgrades for lighting, unit heater, exhaust fan, panelboards, grounding, and conduit per NEC. • All work to comply with City of Hastings specifications, OSHA trench safety, and required temporary traffic control.
