Description

The Travis County Natural Resources department is seeking a contractor to implement the Native Plant Exchange Program (NPEP), which aims to reduce the spread of non-native invasive plant species on County lands by replacing them with native species. The program involves coordinating with private property owners, removing invasive plants, and installing native plants. The contractor will be responsible for providing labor, equipment, and materials to implement the program. The contract will be for a period of 5 years. Key requirements include experience in landscaping with native plants, a pesticide applicator license, and excellent administrative and recordkeeping skills. • The contractor will enroll eligible participants in the program, assess and prioritize projects, and maintain records of the program. • The contractor will remove invasive plants, procure and install native plants, and provide written instructions for care and maintenance of the installed plants. • The contractor will work with County staff to identify focal areas for outreach efforts and will provide a proposed schedule and itemized cost estimate for materials and services. • The contractor will be required to have insurance coverage, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, and professional liability insurance. • The contractor will be evaluated based on their qualifications, experience, and proposed approach to providing services, as well as their fee response.
