Description

The Government is seeking vendor information to determine the most suitable approach to procure Head Impact Mouthguard Monitoring Systems for MEDCOM. The system consists of an instrumented mouthguard used for measuring head impact events in impact sports and/or military training environments. The mouthguard must be custom fit to individuals and have various features such as accelerometers, angular rate sensors, and the ability to measure head motion. The system also includes a team charging case that can store and charge a minimum of 25 sensors. The goals of the RFI are to seek information to determine the most suitable approach to procure Head Impact Mouthguard Monitors and to identify vendors who can provide monitors equipped with accelerometers. • The mouthguard must be custom fit to individuals. • The team charging case must provide storage and charging capabilities for a minimum of 25 sensors. • The mouthguard sensors must have a minimum of a four-hour battery and be capable of being recharged. • The mouthguard sensors must be capable of storing at least 100 events locally. • The vendor must provide on-site training regarding the use of mouthguard monitors and data collection/analysis of monitor results.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate as the document does not provide a specific budget or pricing structure. However, based on the requirements and the fact that the Government is seeking a one-time purchase model, the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million. This estimate is based on the assumption that the vendor will need to provide a large quantity of mouthguards and the associated software and training. The actual budget could be higher or lower depending on the vendor's pricing structure and the Government's budget. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of mouthguards required, the complexity of the software and training, and the vendor's experience and reputation in providing similar products and services.
