Description

The US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground is seeking information on industry's capability to provide a materiel solution for a Screening Obscuration Module (SOM) Multispectral. The SOM is a modular obscuration and screening system that can be used in a mounted or dismounted configuration. The system should produce an obscurant cloud that degrades the visual through millimeter wave portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The performance targets include providing degradation effects in an area 204 meters long and from ground level to 12 meters height in ≤95 seconds for a duration of 12 minutes without resupply. • The technical approach to meeting the SOM-M requirement could include proposing an existing commercial system, modifying a system, or rapid development of a system and obscurant material(s). • A Government-Furnished Technical Data Package may be provided upon request to accelerate the development of the dissemination device and screening materials. • Interested firms should provide their company name, address, point of contact, and a description of their expertise in providing obscuration equipment or similar systems. • The potential period of performance is 24-48 months.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a request for information and not a solicitation for bids or proposals. However, based on the complexity of the project and the potential period of performance, the budget could be substantial. The government has not authorized any funds for this effort, but if a contract is awarded in the future, the budget could be in the range of $1 million to $10 million, depending on the scope of work and the contractor's expertise. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the contractor's experience and qualifications, and the government's budget for the project.
