The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking to acquire ADMET Predictor Software for Cosmetic Chemical Risk Assessment. The software is used to estimate the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) properties of chemicals. The FDA intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Simulations Plus Inc., the developer of the software. The contract will include a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. The software will be used to support the safety assessment of cosmetic ingredients and contaminants.
Key features of the software include:
• Advanced computational platform using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)
• Modules for physicochemical and biopharmaceutical properties, metabolism and transporter interactions, toxicity assessment, and high-throughput pharmacokinetic (HTPK) simulation
• Ability to develop quantitative and qualitative structure–activity relationship ((Q)SAR) models using artificial neural network ensemble (ANNE) algorithms
• Support for screening cosmetic ingredients and contaminants, developing in-house (Q)SAR models, and supporting safety assessments
