Description
The City of Salem is seeking a contractor to provide downtown area cleaning services, including litter pick-up, graffiti removal, and general maintenance. The contract will be for a term of one season, commencing on or around May 1, 2026, and terminating November 14, 2026, with the option to renew for two additional seasons. The contractor will be responsible for organizing operations, making all efforts to protect existing work, materials, equipment, improvements, utilities, structures, and vegetation. The contractor must have adequate equipment and staff to perform all tasks and must employ a qualified supervisor with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
• The contractor will be responsible for sweeping all sidewalks and common ways, clearing all planting beds of growth, picking up litter, and removing graffiti.
• The contractor will also be responsible for providing weekly efforts, including supervision and oversight, general trimming and plant beds, general cleaning, and litter removal and cleaning/maintenance.
• The contractor must have means to transport or store their equipment to perform all tasks.
• The contractor must provide at least three references for similar services performed.
• The contractor must be licensed and insured to apply pesticides.
