The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is seeking a single vendor to provide comprehensive fire‑extinguisher maintenance, inspection, repair, recharge, and hydrostatic testing services for all portable extinguishers (and associated hydrants) located in its Western Region facilities. The contract is a 12‑month base period with four optional 12‑month extensions, for a potential total term of five years. Vendors must meet strict security protocols for correctional facilities, maintain required insurance, supply only new, first‑class parts, and adhere to NFPA 10 and OSHA 1910.157 standards. The award will go to the lowest responsible bidder that submits a complete bid on every line item.
• Perform annual visual inspections, 5‑/6‑year service, and 12‑year hydrostatic testing on ~300+ extinguishers and ~30 hydrants.
• Supply new replacement parts, recharge extinguishers, and provide a one‑year warranty on all serviced units.
• Maintain ADOC security compliance (searches, PREA background checks, ID verification) and provide 7 am‑5 pm CST customer‑service phone support with 1‑hour callback and 3‑day emergency response.
• Deliver all materials per ADOC timing rules; late or “inappropriate” deliveries are at vendor expense.
