Description

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is offering a technology licensing opportunity for an anode-free rechargeable lithium battery with a molybdenum (Mo) based current collector at the anode side. This system shows improved cycling performance due to uniform Li nucleation during plating compared with traditional Cu collectors. The benefits of this technology include significantly increased energy density, improved cycling performance, and a scalable process that uses commercially available sputtering technology. The potential applications of this technology include lithium-metal batteries. • Significantly increased energy density • Improved cycling performance compared to other Li metal batteries • Scalable process uses commercially available sputtering technology • Potential applications in lithium-metal batteries

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not specify a payment amount. However, based on the technology's potential applications in lithium-metal batteries and its potential to increase energy density, the budget could be substantial. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the level of commercialization, the size of the market, and the competitive landscape. A rough estimate could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000, depending on the terms of the licensing agreement and the level of investment required to commercialize the technology.
