The Kansas Air National Guard is seeking sources for a project to replace the chiller unit in Building 35 at McConnel AFB, Kansas. The work will involve replacing the existing 80-ton chiller unit with a new Trane 80-ton chiller with 134A refrigerant or equivalent. The contractor will be responsible for removing the existing unit, including disposal of refrigerant, and installing the replacement chiller. The project may require the use of a crane to remove and replace the units. The contractor will also need to update the Direct Digital Control (DDC) system as necessary to correspond with the new chiller unit.
Key points to consider:
• The contractor will need to install a 4” T-valve to allow for the hook-up of a temporary chiller should the new units fail or require servicing.
• The contractor will need to use reinforced 4000 psi concrete to match the thickness and elevation of the existing pad if concrete pad expansion is required.
• The small business size standard for this project is 19 Million for NAICS 238220.
• Interested firms should respond with the attached sources sought form, including bonding capability and information on their capabilities and past performance.
