Description
The New Jersey Transit Corporation is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive painting and body‑repair services for its entire fleet of non‑revenue vehicles (light‑, medium‑ and heavy‑duty). The work includes surface preparation, priming, OEM‑spec paint application, collision repair, panel fabrication, welding, frame straightening, and related mechanical/electrical repairs. The contract is a firm‑fixed‑price, five‑year, all‑or‑nothing award with a 10 % bid‑bond requirement and a 20 % Small‑Business/Disabled‑Veteran‑Owned Business participation goal.
• Scope covers all NJ TRANSIT non‑revenue vehicles – automobiles, pickups, panel vans, specialized‑body vans, and heavy‑duty trucks.
• Labor must be priced on an hourly basis (estimated 3,000 hrs/yr for light/medium duty, 500 hrs/yr for heavy duty); parts are priced as a decimal markup on actual cost.
• Contractor must demonstrate a 100‑mile radius shop capability, maintain a qualified paint booth, have the necessary welding and fabrication equipment, and provide a Quality‑Assurance plan compliant with ISO/ASTM standards.
