The Shelby County Board of Education (SCBE) is soliciting a fixed‑price, all‑or‑none contract to provide fresh, frozen, canned and processed fruits, vegetables and other produce for its 2025 Summer Feeding program. The vendor must meet stringent USDA‑compliant quality, labeling, packaging and “Buy‑American” requirements, and deliver to 39 summer‑school sites throughout the contract window. The contract is non‑exclusive, allows for a one‑year renewal (or six‑month extension), and includes performance‑based penalties for late or non‑conforming deliveries.
• Supply a broad variety of produce (apples, bananas, citrus, stone fruit, berries, melons, leafy greens, root vegetables, pre‑packaged snack portions) with strict size, freshness, and labeling standards.
• Ship on four‑way wooden pallets, provide Child Nutrition labels/crediting statements, and meet 48‑hour delivery‑notice requirements for each of the 39 school sites.
• Provide required certifications (Buy‑American, anti‑bribery, non‑boycott, insurance, etc.) and retain records for three years; bids are irrevocable for 120 days.
• Contract period runs May 20 2025 – July 29 2025 (≈ 70 days) with optional one‑year renewal; payment terms are Net 30.
