ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) special periodical survey drydocking

The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for an anticipated contract for ABS special periodical survey drydocking of its towing vessel, M/V Seaway Guardian. The contract will require a 5-year drydocking period, with a portion of time spent drydocked to perform hull and load line survey inspections, and time at a wet lay berth to finish ABS surveys and trials. The GLS is looking for shipyard firms with specialized experience and technical competence to perform ABS survey required inspections, machinery and electrical testing, and other shipwright and hotwork jobs. • The contract will require the performance of various surveys, including ABS Special Periodical Drydock Survey, ABS Special Periodical & Annual Survey, and ABS IAPP Annex VI Survey. • The contract will also require the performance of various machinery, equipment, and/or structural repairs, removals, and/or installations, in addition to various coating repairs. • The GLS expects to evaluate shipyard firms based on their specialized experience, technical competence, professional qualifications, geographic location, past performance, and capacity to accomplish work in the required timeframe. • The GLS is looking for firms with experience in shipbuilding and repairing, and with a NAICS code of 336611.
