Description

The USSOCOM Program Executive Office Special Operation Forces Support Activity (PEO SOFSA) is seeking solutions for mobile hydrogen production and storage to provide reliable, independent power for basing operations. The goal is to identify a hydrogen energy system that can significantly reduce logistical burdens for SOF operations while providing a robust power generation capability. The selected system should meet performance criteria while prioritizing scalability, portability, and safety. • The system should be capable of producing 500kW of power. • The system should have storage solutions that provide low-pressure safe transportation by land, sea, and air. • The system should be able to operate for 13-15 days on a single container, alleviating nearly 20,000 gallons of logistics burden and associated transportation costs and expansive storage requirements. • The system should be scalable, portable, and safe.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific amount. However, considering the scope of the project, which involves developing and implementing a mobile hydrogen production and storage system for SOF operations, the budget could be substantial. The estimated budget range could be between $500,000 and $5 million, depending on the complexity of the system, the number of units required, and the duration of the contract. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and testing, as well as the potential for future production agreements.
