J045--BOILER REPAIR - Repair Boiler 2 in Bldg. 20

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from potential contractors to repair Boiler 2 in Bldg. 20 at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, Montrose Campus. The boiler's existing Webster burner is damaged and needs to be replaced with a new one. The replacement burner should be the same model as the existing one, and all existing burner fuel train field devices and burner atomization field devices should be replaced in kind. The contractor should also inspect the existing burner, field devices, and control systems, and provide submittals of all equipment, field devices, and materials to be installed under the contract. The contractor will be responsible for delivering and installing the replacement equipment, removing the existing burner and field devices, and testing and commissioning the new boiler. • The contractor should replace the damaged refractory in Boiler 2 and provide a hard piped atomizing train to Burner 2. • The contractor should install a propane header sized for proper capacity to accommodate all four boilers in the Boiler Plant. • The contractor should replace the oxygen sensor on Boiler 2 and hydro blast or mechanically clean internal tubes on Boiler 2 to reduce build up. • The contractor should repaint the exterior of Boiler 2 around the burner casing with high temperature resistant paint.
