The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking a Construction Manager-at-Risk for the comprehensive renovation of the Smith building. The project includes building system upgrades, such as new PME systems, sprinkler system, fire alarm, electrical switchboard, and elevator. Additionally, the project will address hazardous material abatement, ADA and building code compliance deficiencies, and exterior envelope repairs. The project budget is $41,950,000. Key aspects of the project include: • New PME systems in the North wing • A new sprinkler system throughout the entire building • A new fire alarm • A new electrical switchboard • A new elevator at the center of the building • New restrooms at the center of the building • Renovated building entrances at Levels 1 and 2 • Exterior envelope repairs • Replacement of the existing roof • Correction of drainage issues The successful bidder will be responsible for managing the construction process and ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
