Description
The USGS Florence Bascom Geoscience Center seeks a qualified laboratory to perform stable‑isotope (δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O) analyses on carbonate microfossil samples, delivering precise measurements for up to 2,000 specimens.
• Perform sample preparation, mass‑sorting, methanol rinsing and drying of individual shells/tests (5‑250 µg) before analysis.
• Conduct isotope‑ratio mass spectrometry with analytical precision ≤ 0.060 ‰ for δ¹³C and ≤ 0.080 ‰ for δ¹⁸O, using Carrara‑marble standards for correction.
• Deliver corrected isotopic values, uncertainties, and full analytical reports within a six‑month turnaround per order, with all work completed by FY 27 (by 30 Sep 2027).
• Must be a qualified small‑business (HUBZone, SDVOSB, EDWOSB, WOSB) meeting NAICS 541380 requirements.
