Ferris State University is seeking a comprehensive fiber plant management software tool to support the planning, documentation, operation, maintenance, and expansion of its fiber-optic infrastructure. The objective is to improve accuracy of fiber records, streamline troubleshooting, enhance network resiliency, support operational workflows, and provide a single source of truth for all fiber-related assets. The selected vendor will be required to provide implementation services, data migration, training, and ongoing support and maintenance. The project deliverables include a fully configured fiber management platform, migrated and validated fiber plant records, and administrative and user accounts with role-based access.
• The software should provide detailed, accurate mapping of conduits, handholes, manholes, vaults, splice enclosures, cabinets, and fiber routes.
• The software should maintain strand-level fiber records, including fiber strands, distances, colors, slack loops, sheath assignments, and termination points.
• The software should enable real-time updates, interactive tracing, streamlined troubleshooting, and improved contractor coordination.
• The software should support redundancy analysis, growth planning, route modeling, and predictive capacity insights.
• The software should provide accurate circuit maps, reports, cut sheets, and maintain full version control and access tracking.
