Description

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) intends to award a non-competitive purchase order for high-throughput proteomic analysis services using the Olink Explore HT platform. The requirement supports a longitudinal study investigating transthyretin (TTR) variants in sickle cell disease severity and includes quantification of over 5,400 proteins per sample. Services include standardized sample processing, assay execution, quality control, and delivery of normalized datasets compatible with previously generated study data. • The contractor shall perform proteomic profiling using the Olink Explore HT platform with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based readout. • The contractor shall provide standardized sample processing, assay execution using Olink Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, quality control, data normalization, and delivery of complete, analysis-ready datasets. • The requirement supports an ongoing longitudinal study and requires consistency in assay performance, data processing, and output to ensure comparability across multiple datasets.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The estimated budget for this opportunity is between $500,000 and $2,000,000. This estimate is based on the fact that the requirement involves high-throughput proteomic analysis of biospecimens, which can be a costly process. Additionally, the fact that the contractor shall perform proteomic profiling using the Olink Explore HT platform with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based readout, which is a specialized and expensive technology, supports this estimate. The ongoing longitudinal study and the requirement for consistency in assay performance, data processing, and output also suggest a higher budget.
