(M.A.T.) Garage Stairwell Improvements

The City of Hartford is seeking a qualified contractor to replace Stair “B” within the M.A.T. parking garage. The work includes demolition of the existing stair, structural steel stair assembly fabrication and installation, concrete repair and masonry, waterproofing, new fire‑rated doors, epoxy flooring, signage, and associated electrical and lighting upgrades. The contract is a lump‑sum public‑works award with mandatory prevailing‑wage compliance, MWBE utilization, and extensive bonding and insurance requirements. The project must be completed within a 420‑day schedule (excluding a mandatory winter shutdown from Dec 1 to Apr 1) and carries a $1,000 per day liquidated‑damage penalty for late substantial completion.
