8th and Roosevelt Active Transportation Corridor (PLA)

The City of National City is seeking qualified contractors to design and construct an active‑transportation corridor along 8th Street, Roosevelt Avenue, and Main Street. The scope includes building a new shared‑use pedestrian and bicycle path with landscaping, installing lighting, upgrading drainage, adding signage and striping, and performing roadway improvements such as asphalt paving and new curb‑and‑gutter work. The project is funded by Caltrans ATP Cycle 4, subject to prevailing‑wage requirements and the City’s Project Labor Agreement. • Full turn‑key construction of pedestrian/bicycle facilities, lighting, drainage, signage, and roadway upgrades. • Requirements include California state contractor license (Class “A”), performance and payment bonds, and compliance with Davis‑Bacon prevailing‑wage rules. • Project length is approximately 260 days with an estimated construction value of $6 million.
