PERSONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM (PERS)

The County of Ulster is seeking a qualified vendor to provide Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) to residents who are 60 years or older. The PERS system consists of a portable pendant or bracelet and an electronic call device installed in the recipient's residence, linked to a central emergency response center. The vendor will provide installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the PERS units, as well as provide reports to the County. The contract will be for a period of two years with an option to renew for up to two additional one-year periods. • The vendor must serve all of Ulster County and have the ability to communicate with hearing-impaired clients and serve individuals in languages prevalent among the Ulster County population. • The vendor must have access to translators for a diverse group of languages and specify what languages are available for translation. • The vendor must provide timely notification to family members, neighbors, or emergency services in accordance with the pre-determined emergency protocol on record. • The vendor must provide callers with social reassurance through the call-center, accessible by their PERS, and offer unlimited, live, call-center support and conversation at no additional cost.
