Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, Breathing Air and Gas Meter Maintenance

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance services for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and atmospheric gas monitoring equipment at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. The contractor will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and documenting all SCBA equipment, breathing air compressors, and atmospheric gas monitoring meters. The contract requires the contractor to comply with all performance requirements, including monthly calibration and repairs of gas meters, quarterly breathing air compressor testing, and annual breathing air compressor maintenance. The contractor must also adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and safety regulations of the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Key services to be provided include: • Annual flow tests of SCBA, air cart, and supplied air respirators • Quarterly breathing air compressor testing • Annual breathing air compressor maintenance • Monthly tests of six gas meters • Supply calibration gas and equipment for bump testing of gas meters by the fire department in between monthly calibrations • Replacement of sensors on gas meters as required by monthly calibration
