General Tree Maintenance Services

The City of Norfolk is seeking a responsible vendor to provide general tree maintenance services, including tree pruning and removal, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of this solicitation. The contractor will be required to have a Certified Arborist or an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board-Certified Master Arborist on staff, and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including ANSI A300 pruning standards and ANSI Z133.1 standards for worksite safety. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment, and vehicles needed to complete the specified work and meet required quality standards. Some key points to consider are: * The contractor must have at least one Certified Arborist or Board-Certified Master Arborist present on all job sites. * The contractor must utilize employees that are fully trained and properly licensed in the operation of vehicles or equipment being used. * The contractor must comply with local, state, and federal laws and appropriately address encounters with birds, rats, wasps, bees, hornets, and other wildlife and insects. * The contractor must provide all necessary permits, lane closure permits, and any other required authorization to conduct tree maintenance operations on all rights-of-way. * The contractor must protect all overhead utilities and be responsible for any damage to overhead utilities due to their operations.
