Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting bids for the replacement of hot water generators in Buildings 53, 51, and 24 at the Saint Louis VA Health Care System. The project includes general construction, alterations, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. The contractor will be responsible for providing all supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, transportation, incidentals, and testing necessary to complete the project. The project duration is 365 calendar days. Key aspects of the project include:
• Replacement of steam to domestic water heaters with new semi-instantaneous steam to water generators
• Demolition and removal of existing domestic cold and hot water piping, medium pressure and high pressure steam and condensate piping, circ pumps, tanks, and control valves
• Installation of new electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
• Compliance with VA and local codes, as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable standards
• Coordination with other construction operations and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)
• Maintenance of as-built drawings and submission of a warranty management plan.
