FA-18E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Block II

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is procuring F/A-18E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Pod Block II weapon replaceable assemblies (WRAs), specifically the Fuel Tank Assembly (FTA) and Sensor Assembly Structure (SAS), and performance of final system integration. The procurement is being pursued on a sole source basis, with Boeing being the intended contractor due to their manufacturing knowledge, experience, and technical data. • The procurement includes the design, build, or acquisition of special test equipment (STE) to aid in the production of IRST Block II WRAs. • The contractor must be capable of troubleshooting and adjudicating issues with the WRAs. • The Government will utilize capability statements received to confirm the sole source acquisition approach or to reconsider a competitive procurement.
