The Board of Commissioners of Glynn County, Georgia, seeks proposals from qualified firms to provide engineering design services for the Perry Lane Road Bridge Replacement and Corridor Widening project. The project includes replacing the existing bridge with a wider structure designed to safely accommodate modern legal loads, emergency vehicles, and future traffic demands, and widening the Perry Lane Road corridor to improve capacity, drainage, and long-term functionality. The selected firm will be responsible for providing engineering design services, including field investigation and condition assessment, hydraulic analysis and drainage design, permitting and regulatory coordination, public meetings, final design and construction documents, and engineer's cost estimate.
• The existing bridge was originally constructed in 1965 and reconstructed in 2001, but it remains in fair physical condition and is permanently load posted due to insufficient structural capacity for modern vehicular demands.
• The project aims to proactively address public safety, structural adequacy, operational efficiency, and future capacity needs.
• The selected firm will be required to have experience and qualifications in providing similar services, including experience with similar projects, licenses, registrations, or certifications applicable to the proposed work.
• The firm will be evaluated based on their understanding of the project scope, technical approach, resource and workload capacity, cost proposal, and local preference.
