Description
The West Virginia Division of Administrative Services is soliciting bids for self-supporting and guyed communication towers and accessories. The contract will be awarded to the vendor that provides the required items at the lowest overall total cost. The vendor must meet specific requirements, including industry standards and warranty provisions. The contract is intended to provide a purchase price for all contract items, and the vendor must accept orders by regular mail, facsimile, e-mail, or other written forms of communication. The vendor must also provide quarterly reports and annual summaries to the West Virginia Emergency Management Division.
Some key requirements for the towers include:
* Meeting industry standards (e.g. Underwriters Laboratories, Federal Communications Commission, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers)
* Being constructed on an equilateral triangle pattern with steel lifts and cross bracing members
* Having a minimum wind loading and radial ice per ANSI/TIA-222 REV-H Standards
* Having a standard lightning rod assembly
* Having a climbing leg or step pegs designed to meet current EIA standards
* Being designed and fabricated according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) standards
* Having all tower members designed to allow easy inspection of all surfaces for possible corrosion
* Having a West Virginia Professional Engineer's (PE) stamp or seal on all tower drawings
