2026 Water Main Improvements

The City of Elgin, Illinois, is seeking bids for the 2026 Water Main Improvements project. The project involves the installation of approximately 11,720 feet of 8-inch water main and 495 feet of 12-inch water main, as well as other appurtenant work and materials necessary to complete the project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond equal to 100% of the total contract price. The project must comply with the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. • The scope of work includes water main installation, testing, and disinfection, as well as the removal and replacement of existing water mains, valves, and hydrants. • The project also includes the removal and replacement of storm sewers, culverts, and sanitary sewers. • The successful bidder will be required to pay prevailing wage and provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project. • The project is expected to start on the date of the award and will last for approximately 365 days. • The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities and any informality in any bid.
