The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is seeking information from industry to assist with the development and planning of a potential new requirement for a Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS). The WIDS solution must continuously monitor the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum and be capable of detecting, geolocating, and alerting of unauthorized wireless emissions and Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) for an entire facility. The system must provide security personnel with real-time situational awareness of the RF environment. Key features of the system include:
• Continuous monitoring of the 70 MHz to 6 GHz radio frequency spectrum
• 100% passive with zero RF emissions
• Compliance with ICD 705 acoustic/RF shielding standards
• 24/7 monitoring of the RF spectrum for the facility
• Ability to immediately identify the room or zone that a device is in and individually distinguish a single device transmitting a radio frequency signal from surrounding devices
• Air-gapped operation with no requirement for a "cloud" connection or external telemetry "phone-home" capability
• Custom geofenced zones and whitelisting of various devices
• Maintenance of a complete record of wireless activity with records going back at least 90 days prior
• 95% uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance windows
The system must be Trade Agreements Act (TAA)-compliant and approved for use within Department of War National Security Systems, and must strictly adhere to National Defense Authorization Act Section 889 prohibitions.
