Description
The United States Air Force is soliciting for a sole source contract to procure CYPRES Automatic Activation Devices and associated equipment. The contract will be awarded to SSK Military Industries, Inc., as they are the only responsible source capable of providing the required item in compliance with Air Force requirements. The equipment includes EC CYPRES-2 1-Pin Changeable - w/LTM, EC CYPRES IR Remote, EC CYPRES Data Collector, and Military EC CYPRES Operator Training Course - 1Day.
• The CYPRES system utilizes proprietary technology, components, and software that are not interchangeable with other manufacturers’ devices.
• The Air Force Personnel Parachute Program (PPP) Approved for Use List (AUL) establishes standardized, mandatory equipment for military parachute operations to ensure safety, compatibility, and airworthiness.
• Only AUL-approved devices are authorized for use, and substitution is not permitted without formal PPP evaluation and approval.
• Market research was conducted to identify potential vendors, but no alternate manufacturers or equivalent items were found.
