Single-mode 532 nm laser for Brillouin Light Scattering Spectrometer (High Speed Metrology for Magnetoelectronic Devices and Models)

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products/services that satisfy the Government’s anticipated needs for a single-mode 532 nm laser for Brillouin Light Scattering Spectrometer. The laser should have an output power of 250 mW at 532 nm, a beam diameter between 1.5 mm and 1.9 mm, and a beam divergence smaller than 0.5 mrad. The laser should also have a spectral purity within 30 GHz of the fundamental mode and higher order modes suppressed by at least 95 dB compared to the fundamental mode. • The laser should be a diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) laser. • The laser should be readily interchangeable with the existing 200 mW 532nm Torus wavelength system manufactured by Novanta. • The laser should have a beam output at a height of 41 mm or less. • The laser should fit onto a 5.6” wide platform with the laser output in the center of the platform.
