The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from vendors who can provide dock levelers for the American Lake VA Medical Center. The current dock levelers are over 30 years old and have irreparable issues. The new dock levelers will need to be designed and built to replace the old units, and the work will involve unbolting, electrical disconnect, and removal of the old units, as well as installation of new control panels. The contractor will be responsible for proper disposal of all removed equipment. The scope of work includes sourcing and obtaining approval from the contracting officer of the dock levelers to be used, lock-out electrical source, disconnect and remove each dock control panel, unbolt and remove each dock leveler, clean and prep surface for new dock leveler, slide in place and align new dock leveler, bolt down and connect controls for each leveler, and connect power and test each dock leveler for proper function.
Some key points to consider are:
• The loading dock levelers are over 30 years old and have irreparable issues.
• The new units can be slid into place, bolted down, and electrically connected.
• New control panels need to be installed and function tested.
• Work only needs to be done on the 4 dock levelers in building 143 of the American Lake VA campus.
• The contractor is responsible for proper disposal of all removed equipment.
• The period of performance is 90 days upon award of contract.
