The Trauma Care Readiness and Coordination Cooperative Agreement funds state, tribal, and regional consortia to develop, test, and scale innovative trauma system models that improve EMS‑hospital coordination, reduce patient transport times, and increase access for medically underserved populations. Up to four awards of $300‑$500 K per recipient will be made for a three‑year period (FY 2026‑2028). Recipients must conduct at least two of six predefined activities (e.g., strengthening regional communication, creating transport protocols, building data‑sharing systems, supporting research capacity). The program emphasizes measurable outcomes such as improved situational awareness, faster patient movement, and stronger partnerships among trauma centers, EMS, and public health agencies.

• Funding: $2 M total, $300‑$500 K per award in Year 1; subsequent years contingent on availability.
• Required match: 1:3 (State/consortium must provide $1 for every $3 federal dollars), except for tribal or trauma‑center consortia.
• Deliverables: Progress reports, performance data, and a final evaluation report within 90 days of project completion.
• Key dates: Application opens Aug 19 2026, deadline Sep 18 2026; expected award Sep 30 2026; performance period through FY 2028.
