Deputy Inspectors - Issuing Agents

The State of Tennessee, Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Fire Prevention is seeking qualified “issuing agents” to issue building and/or electrical permits on behalf of the State. Contractors will collect permit fees and a per‑permit issuing‑agent fee, remit state funds, and be reimbursed monthly based on the number of permits processed. The contract is a fixed‑price, fee‑per‑permit arrangement with no additional travel or overhead compensation. Applicants must meet stringent qualification criteria, maintain required insurance, and comply with extensive record‑keeping and privacy regulations. • Issue building permits (up to $15 per permit) and/or electrical permits (up to $5 per permit) for Tennessee citizens. • Collect and remit all state‑collected fees; the State reimburses the contractor’s per‑permit fee monthly after receipt of funds. • Must be located in Tennessee or a contiguous state, have no felony convictions, and be registered with the Tennessee Dept. of Revenue. • Provide required documentation (Qualifications Evidence Guide, W‑9, ACH form, insurance, etc.) by June 30 2027. • No travel, meal, or other compensation; all costs are borne by the contractor.
